Storytelling takes many shapes and forms, pictures, words, voices. For my past two journalism years, I chose podcasting to tell my five-time award-winning stories.
When deciding my new beat category for the semester, I knew I wanted to do something video-oriented. I’ve developed quite adequate skills for videography, video editing, and scriptwriting in my free time. What better way to do that than to put my skills and hobbies to use for school work. The thought of having my own podcast where I could talk about whatever I wanted to enlightened me. I had recently started getting into different genres of music and broadening my horizons, so I aimed my podcast to expand my music taste, make connections, and work for something I love and am good at doing.
The Tune Talk is an episodic podcast where I invite cool individuals to discuss their favorite genres of music and share their love with me. We discuss the deeper inner meanings, instrumentals, and if we like the overall music
Because of my profound love for films and cinema, being an industry I want to pursue in the future, I collectively decided to make a movie podcast with my friend, Izaan Masud. There’s nothing I enjoy more than a deep, analytical, film with good acting, cinematography, and writing. I like to watch and review movies online in my free time and find the significance and hidden meanings in different movies, which is exactly what I wanted to turn into a podcast.
Towards the end of the first season, me and Izaan chose to split being partners. I, although, continued with the podcast, indulging in my love for cinema. I have been participating deeper into Scot Center with being selected as an editor and peer-reviewing others’ work with podcasting.
